The Friends of the Hamble school

September 2022

Vacancy for Chairperson

Our current Chair person has made the decision to step down, so we are looking to fill this position. There will be a hand over period, where guidance will be given.

CHAIR PERSON

The ideal Chair person would be

  • energetic and motivated
  • committed to supporting and representing the school on behalf of parents
  • a vital communication link between parents and the school

The role would be ideally suited to someone who

  • works flexibly or part time or full time
  • is able to attend meetings, usually once a month in the evening
  • is able to organise and co-ordinate events on a large scale
  • available to play a key role at the fireworks event in November

The Friends organise just one main fundraising event;

  • In partnership with RVCP, they organise the annual fireworks event held at RVCP
  • Organising the fireworks is a huge undertaking and with a footfall of up to 5000 is a logistical feat…but it does raise valuable funds for the school and all committee members help
  • The friends of the Hamble school have raised funds paying for such items as, the Hamble Recording Studio & Media Hub, musical equipment, benches, Maths books, Embroidery machine, 3D printers, 30 laptops and other useful equipment for the students and school

The Chair is a key role, and sadly if we do not have any volunteers willing to take on this role, it will leave us with little option other than to dissolve the charity.

For more information about the requirements of the roles or to register your interest please contact the Friends of The Hamble School
